I've been looking at a used Jeep Wrangler for a few weeks now and I finally found one that seems really solid. The owner is a nice guy, he's got all the service records, and he keeps telling me I can bring any mechanic I want because the car is in great shape. That sounds reassuring but honestly I don't know a single mechanic here who actually understands Jeeps properly, and I've heard too many stories about people buying one and then discovering axle or suspension problems a month later. I'm in Dubai and the car is in Sharjah, so I'm also trying to figure out if a mobile service would even come out that far. A colleague at work mentioned he used a trusted Jeep mechanical inspection for buyers when he bought his Grand Cherokee and it saved him from a bad deal, but I wanted to hear from more people before I book anything. Has anyone here gone through a proper pre-purchase inspection on a used Jeep? Did it actually catch something serious or was it mostly just peace of mind? The seller is pushing me a bit to decide soon and I don't want to rush into something I'll regret. Any honest feedback would really help me out.
